Privacy Policy

We collect only what we need to run classes, private coaching, and events for an 18+ audience.

A) You give us directly

• Contact & identity: name, email, mobile number, and your 18+ confirmation.

• Bookings & purchases: session/event selections, dates, price, and receipts. (Card data is processed by our payment provider; we don’t store full card numbers.)

• Communications: emails, SMS replies, DMs, and forms.

• Media & releases (optional): headshots, clips, testimonials, and any media consent you choose to sign.

B) Collected automatically (digital)

• Usage & device data: pages viewed, UTM/source, approximate location, IP, and cookies or similar tech (for analytics and measuring what content works).

• Log records: basic system logs for security and troubleshooting.

C) In-studio checks

• Age verification: we may visually check a government ID at entry to confirm 18+. We do not keep scans/images of IDs unless required for an incident, legal, or insurance reason.

We do not intentionally collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided data, contact us and we’ll delete it.

A) How we use your information

• Run our services: take bookings, process payments, verify 18+, schedule classes/events, and deliver coaching.

• Communicate: confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, and (if you opt in) marketing updates like new classes and events.

• Improve: track what content and classes help students progress; maintain site/app performance and safety.

• Legal & safety: comply with laws, prevent fraud, and enforce policies.

B) When we share it
We share data only with service providers who help us operate—e.g., payment processors, booking/scheduling tools, email/SMS platforms, website/hosting, and analytics. They must use it only to serve The Shy Cat and protect it appropriately.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not allow third parties to use it for their own marketing.

C) Cookies, analytics, and ads
We use analytics and basic marketing tools (e.g., UTMs, cookies) to understand traffic and the effectiveness of our posts/ads. You can manage cookies in your browser. If we run retargeting, it’s limited to our own events/services, and you can opt out by adjusting cookie settings or contacting us.

D) Retention

• Bookings & receipts: kept as long as needed for operations and taxes (often up to 7 years).

• Media & releases: kept while your consent remains valid or until you withdraw it.

• Marketing lists: until you unsubscribe; we keep a minimal record to honor your opt-out.

• Logs & analytics: typically 12–24 months.

• ID checks: visual only; no retention unless required by an incident or legal duty.

E) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. No method is 100% secure, but we continuously work to protect your data.

A) Communications

• Email: click Unsubscribe in any message or email Dance@theshycat.com.

• SMS: reply STOP to any text; for help, reply HELP.
  You will still receive essential messages about active bookings.

B) Access, correction, deletion
Email Dance@theshycat.com to request access to your data, ask for corrections, or request deletion. We’ll verify your identity and respond within a reasonable time (typically 30 days).

C) Media consent
If you granted a media release and want to change your mind for future use, email us. (Past materials already published may not always be retractable, but we’ll do our best to honor reasonable requests.)

D) Opt-out of analytics/ads cookies
Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. You can also contact us to record an opt-out preference for marketing uses of your data.

E) Updates to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services or the law. We’ll post the new date above. If changes are significant, we’ll notify you via site notice or email.
